When Kacy first came to America at a young age with her younger brother and grandmother in 1989, she spent most of her childhood in Garden Grove, California. Where most Vietnamese immigrants like herself have resided. One of the few things reminding Kacy of her heritage back in Vietnam was the food. She remembers eating food like Phở ,Cháo, Spring Rolls, Cơm bì chả thịt nướng, which we all serve at Pho So 1. Prior to owning Pho So 1, she worked as a waitress for ten years at a local Vietnamese restaurant, however the restaurant unfortunately closed down. With three kids to take care of and uncertainty in 2011 she decided to open up Pho So 1 in Irvine, California. Though she never thought of ever owning a restaurant but knew that it's her only way to share her Vietnamese culture with others. In the first two years, the restaurant struggled while trying to get the restaurant name out there. Kacy refused to accept defeat and continued pursuing her dreams. Currently in 2021, she now has four children to take care of, but despite a new member to the family, my family over at Pho So 1 are continuing to work just as hard to provide the best service to our customers.
